We just wanted to share a quick story about our dog Zoe and the impact charcoal had on her life.
Zoe was diagnosed with malignant melanoma near her jaw, and it was growing fast—almost doubling in size within a week. Our wonderful vet did surgery to remove as much as he could, but some of the tumor was wrapped around a facial nerve and couldn’t be taken out. Even after surgery, it kept growing and started pressing on her throat, making her bark sound raspy. We really thought we’d be saying goodbye soon.
About a week after her surgery, we had a fire in our fire pit. The next day, Zoe started eating the leftover charcoal. Even though we told her to “leave it,” she kept going back for more—at least once a day. As the days went by, we noticed the tumor starting to shrink. Within two months, it was completely gone! After surgery, it had been about the size of a tennis ball.
Our brother, John Baxter, sent us a big bucket of your hardwood charcoal, and we started mixing a little into Zoe’s food (thankfully she was black, so the mess wasn’t noticeable!). She lived almost a full year after surgery, and the tumor never came back. Even her vet was amazed and said, “It must have been the charcoal!”
We really believe it was God who led us to this, using charcoal as part of His healing. Now, we give our new pup a little charcoal mixed with coconut oil every day—he loves it just like we enjoy our daily charcoal slurry.
