Charcoal for Heavy Metals that have been in the body for years...
Activated Charcoal For removing heavy metal from the body
Question: Hi there, Can activated charcoal get rid of heavy metals and other contaminants that have been in the body for many years? From reading online, I can see the general consensus is it's good to get something out of your system you just put in a minute ago, and good for temporary relief of gas and what have you, but not much else. what do you think? I also saw that comment you made quoting that study where a particular animal (can't remember which) showed no loss long-term of essential nutrients, but then doctors and people swear that it does ... its a shame there's so much conflicting information surrounding this topic I'm going to start cleaning up my diet and what have you to deal with my internal mold and candida issue, so it would be nice if the charcoal could remove contaminants like heavy metals so less stress is on my stomach, but I will wait to see what you think Thanks a lot Connor Hi Connor, I apologize for the late reply, I have been extremely busy and wanted to write when I could give a more thoughtful reply. Activated charcoal has worked for removing heavy metals from the body that have been there for a long time. I can share two instances, my own personal experience and that of one of our customers. I had the lower half of my mercury amalgams removed a number of years ago now and even though I had gone to a dentist that was supposedly knowledgeable in how to remove them, as time went by after they were removed, my brain was getting more and more foggy of which I had no doubt it was the lingering mercury wreaking havoc on my brain giving me extreme brain fog. I started taking large amounts of the Detox & Cleanse for a solid three days and amazingly in that short time, my mind became very clear, really the best that I could remember in ages. This caused me to go on a 13-week charcoal detox protocol and that was one of the best things I ever did for my health, you can read my story here. The other story that I can share is that of Barbara, a woman that has had a number of health issues. She had herself tested for mercury and I don’t remember the numbers, but it was high. She called and asked just as you are, if the activated charcoal would help. I shared that it can, but it has to be long term to really make a difference. So she started taking a heaping tablespoon every day for a few months and afterward, she tested again for her mercury level. It was down, but she was disappointed, she thought that the charcoal would do better than that. When she called to share her experience, I said that the amount that she was taking was not enough, ideally, she should be taking the charcoal at least three to five times a day and so she did just that, she started daily taking copious amounts of the Detox & Cleanse and did this for several weeks, I think at least three months and then tested once more for heavy metals and lo and behold she tested zero for mercury poisoning! As for affecting the nutrients and minerals in your body always ask whomever is espousing this to please share the empirical study that proves charcoal removes nutrients and minerals, for as of yet, we cannot find that information. As cited in the book, Charcoal Remedies, The Complete Book On Medicinal Charcoal, the author shares an empirical study that you mentioned above on lab rats, that lived 30% longer than the rats that did not get a daily dose of activated charcoal. Clearly, the charcoal did not interfere negatively with their positive food intake! Then there is the study by David Cooney, where they added activated charcoal to the diet of the sheep for six months and it did not cause a loss of nutrients, as compared with sheep not receiving charcoal. Five percent of their total diet was activated charcoal. It did not affect the blood or urinary levels of calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, inorganic phosphorus, potassium, sodium, zinc, creatinine, uric acid, urea nitrogen, alkaline phosphatase, total protein, or urine pH.” Also, you made mention of Candida, which is something I personally suffered from since childhood until just a few years ago when I finally did the above-mentioned 13-week charcoal detox cleanse which caused me to shed not only parasites but also rid me of my Candida, it was amazing! Please note, however, that activated charcoal does not discriminate between poisons, so we do not recommend taking it with prescription drugs unless suggested by your primary health care provider.
