Question: Hi John, I would like to know if you know if taking activated charcoal can cause or exacerbate hypoglycemic symptoms? There was a slight reference to it on the net. Thanks a bunch, Cathlin Answer: Hello Cathlin Thank you for contacting us. I am not aware of any cases of people telling us that charcoal helped or aggravated their hypoglycemia. But, since activated charcoal has been reported to help with hyperglycemia (diabetes) I suspect it might have a positive effect.man We live in a culture of eating constantly that places a burden on the pancreas to overproduce insulin. In time the pancreas becomes “confused” with signals for insulin for small appetizers and in time becomes exhausted with overwork and will either over produces or under produces insulin. This kind of program is headed directly for hyperglycemia. The treatment of choice is no more than 3 meals a day, at least 5 house apart, with absolutely no snacks between mealtimes except herbal teas without sweeteners. The programs that advocate many small meals may gratify the appetite, but continue to weaken the pancreas. What is needed is rest, and for the whole digestive system. The program should be: Break the fast like a King Dinner like a Prince and Supper like a Pauper Here are some handouts we give at Cooking schools including a Pancreas Recovery Diet. I hope this is of some help. If you have specific questions on a hypoglycemic program I would be happy to reply. Some other blog posts you might enjoy reading:
