Are your Charcoal Tablets Chewable?
A Customer Emails Us Asking:
'Are your charcoal tablets, chewable?'
Yes, of course!
The tablets are so versatile and ideal for children and those who do not like swallowing charcoal capsules. You can also put a tablet on a minor sore or abscess inside your mouth or just suck on them for a sore throat. :)
A nurse that used to work in critical care told us that he loved the charcoal tablets, he would keep a bottle with him at work and would constantly be popping and even sucking on them at times. Basically what he was doing was keeping a small amount of charcoal in his body at all times and thus he attributed this to his good health. Once there was a really nasty flu that was not only affecting the patients but the critical ward staff that he was working on and he was the only staff member that did not get sick! Most likely, being a critical care nurse he saw our USP Charcoal Tablets as a way of keeping himself healthy as he cared for his very ill or injured patients.
Obviously, because the tablets are chewable they are ideal for children who are old enough to chew and suck on tablets but not old enough to swallow capsules. Another great aspect of charcoal is that it is flavorless, so at least the flavor will not be a deterrent to chewing or sucking on it, and a creative parent or caregiver, can make it fun to take the black 'monkey' tablet to make one's upset tummy feel better quickly.
Please note that just as with any charcoal product taken internally that charcoal's claim to fame is adsorbing toxins and poisons so if someone is on medication you should check with your health care provider first before administering.
