Hi Bina. Yes the Pure NonScents face mask is hand washable in pure water only, no soaps or dertergents must be used. And yes, it is safe to have the charcoal cloth directly against your body, however, there is a filter over the actual activated charcoal material so you will not be experiencing that. It is possible to get a small swatch of the actual face mask.  We cater to the chemically sensitive so if you email us your name and address we will send one out to your right away.
